If you are buying your first home and need something affordable and with plenty of nearby shopping and dining, let me suggest a visit to Buckingham Estates in South Austin. Located north of Slaughter Lane and west of South First Street, Buckingham Estates is one of my favorite starter neighborhoods. You’ll find one and two-story homes with brick façades on tree-shaded streets with names such as Hyde Park Place, Palace Parkway, United Kingdom Drive and Great Britain Boulevard. Experience a great little South Austin neighborhood when you visit Buckingham Estates.

Buckingham Estates Austin Attractions
One of the best things about Buckingham Estates has a lot to do with recent developments in the area. Once on the southern edge of Austin, the area has seen much growth since the development of Southpark Meadows. Acres and acres of rolling hill country ranch land that once housed an outdoor music venue has been sold and changed to acres and acres of shops, restaurants and even some big box retailers. This huge shopping destination is just south of Slaughter Lane and is literally minutes from your home in Buckingham Estates. Add the neighborhood parks like Dittmar Recreation Center and the spacious Mary Moore Searight Metropolitan Park to the assets and you have everything you need within minutes of your doorstep.
